There is an aesthetic issue similar to eye circles but has nothing to do with them. It is the so called “fake eye-circle” or a tear through. There is no adequate term for it in the Croatian language.
It is a dark-purple pigmentation stretching from the inner angle of the eye diagonally towards the cheekbone. Oftentimes there is a dent or a canal inside the tear-through. The skin is really thin in that area and the hamstring muscle is more visible, which contributes to the dark-purple skin color. Outer pigmentation caused by the sun and capillaries also have a minor affect on the condition. Some people just have a dent similar to a diagonal canal without any skin coloration. This is an aesthetic issue which gives you an older, tired, sleepy and ill look. It is harder to cover it up with make up because skin dents cannot be covered. Tear-through gives unwanted facial contours which can be seen best from an angle or on photographies.
These are two completely different aesthetic-corrective issues which are not related, but are similar in appearance and are oftentimes mistaken for the other. Real eye-circles are located along the whole eye length, while tear-through is just under the inner third of the eye shaped like an angular skin indentation.
No matter how much and how early you go to bed and how much you take care of yourself you cannot get rid of a tear-through. Lowering of the cheeks once you lose the subcutaneous fat tissue creates a skin dent shaped like a canal. This is considered to be the main cause of tear-through development because it uncovers the muscle hamstrings which give the skin its coloration.
The goal is to fill out the dent or the canal in the skin and to remove the dark-purple skin color. Surgery is the only method with which you can lift your cheek bones and solve the problem. The most important goal is to fill out the indentation or the skin canal which cannot always be done by surgery. For this purpose we use fillers, blood and fat tissue to compensate for the volume under the skin. The stated substances also thicken the skin and almost completely remove the dark-purple skin color.
Fillers based on hyaluronic acid are used exclusively because other types cannot be used for this area. Only 1 painless treatment is needed and there is no recovery. The result usually lasts for 9-12 months after your initial treatment. After that a new treatment is needed since the hyaluronic acid dissolves. By repeating the treatment the result will be better every time. At the moment fillers are considered to be the simplest and best method for the solution of this problem.
