Certain people, when smiling, lift their upper lip to much and show their gums.
Sometimes this becomes an issue and the method of choice for correcting this is botox. The problem is in the enhanced muscle activity and the wrong way of using them. This causes the upper lip to be lifted as much. Botox weakens the said muscle and decreases its tension and movements. As a result the upper lip is not lifted as much. Only one treatment is needed and the result lasts from 3 to 9 months. Maintenance treatments are needed once a year or once every 2 years, it is determined individually.
